Scalix 10.0.0 to 10.0.5 Upgrade Fails

Hello,

We have attemped to upgrade a Scalix 10 server is our lab and have run across this problem:

We are running SUSE LINUX Enterprise Server 9 SP 3.

We downloaded Scalix 10.0.5 from this link:
http://www.scalix.com/GA/scalix-core-in ... 0.5.tar.gz

We stopped the scalix services with these commands:
/etc/init.d/scalix stop
/etc/init.d/scalix-tomcat stop

We ran the scalix installer with these commands:
unset DISPLAY
tar -xzf scalix-core-intel-suse-10.0.5.tar.gz
cd scalix-core-intel-suse-10.0.5
./scalix-installer

We read and accepted the license agreement.
At the ‘Please choose an action from the list’ prompt, we selected option 1 (Upgrade all Scalix components).
At the ‘Do you want to continue installing the packages’ prompt, we accepted the default of ‘yes’ and pressed enter.
At the ‘Press Enter to begin installation’ prompt, we pressed enter.
At the ‘Press Enter to accept the existing license key file’, we pressed enter.
At the ‘Secure Communication / Enter password’ prompt, we typed in the root password.
At the ‘Secure Communication / Confirm password’ prompt, we typed in the root password.

Then during the upgrade, we have received the following error messages:
Configuring Web applications...
Cleaning up Tomcat......
Configuring Scalix Administration Console......
Configuring Scalix Remote Execution Service...... (/)
Fatal error occured: Msg: An error occurred configuring Web applications -- check the log for errors.
Scalix Installer - cleaning up...
Scalix Installer - stopped.


Since that time, we have tried to re-run the scalix-installer program and select the option 3 - 'Reconfigure Scalix Components' and this still results in the same error message listed above.

Please advise on how to resolve this problem.

What's in the installer log in /var/log/ ?

I have ran the installer with the --debug option and examined the log files.

The problem was that the sxqueryadmin account has pre-existing and the installer was trying to recreate it.

I removed the sxqueryadmin account and reran the installer and it was able to complete successfully.

This has been resolved.
