Our server crashed with a disk drive failure and we did not have a current backup. The last good backup was in July. We installed on a new server, restored the July data and we are back up and running. However we like to retrieve the mail from the old server data.
The data on the crashed disk was retrieved by a data recovery service. The directory structure was preserved and there is over 50 GB of data. About 21,000 files where lost of the 2,000,000 plus files. On a backup server I installed Scalix and restored the recovered data in /var/opt/scalix. It did not come up cleanly. When starting Scalix (omrc -n) it gets License errors:

An omstat -a shows that the License Monitor Daemon is Aborted. The license key exists and doesn't appear to be the issue. Many of the basic commands do not respond with any results: omshowu, omshowmn, omlistdirs, omscan, omsearch. The user and user01 directories where restored but some files where corrupted in those directories.
I systematically went through the system and fusing dbcheck ound that the Vista database files are corrupted. There are 5 subdirectories under /var/opt/scalix/dir/1. Number 5 checks error free. The other 4 have errors. Below is a sample of the errors.
