Subfolder integration in Parent-Folder (parent-Child-struct?

Postby jonaswagner » Thu Oct 26, 2006 7:43 am

Hello,
I am looking for a possibility to add Subfolders to a Calender-folder. This is easy, i know. But is it possible to view entries of all subfolders in the Parent folder too?
I am asking, because I want to give seperate Users their own Calender, so everybody has his own calender and cannot see the other ones. And me, as the Admin, can see all sub-calender-entries in the main Parent-Calender simultaneously.

We are using Scalix 10 an Outlook 2003.
Hope, there is anybody able to help me or an easy solution.

Thx, Jonas

Does Outlook allow you to do this when connected with Exchange ?

If you select the "Calendar" bar ( at the bottom left of the screen ) it will show you a list on the left of the screen of all the calendar folders that it knows about. Some will have checkmarks, others not. If you select one of those calendars by checking the box, it will display the calendar in parallel with the others.

Cheers

Dave

Hi dkelly,

thanks for the reply. I know about this parallel-view. The Problem is, that i have to update Infos within some calendar-entries. If a parent folder shows all the dates and Infos of its child-folders, I only have to edit the changed information once in the child-folders. Or is there any other way to keep some users personal calendar-data simultaneously integrated and updated in one big calendar or to link 2 or more calendars?

Thanks, Jonas

PS: I am not sure, if the Microsoft Exchange server supports this feature (cause I dont really worked with it), but the linux-based OpenExchange Server does.
