Anyone can help, please?

Postby ledoktre » Tue Oct 17, 2006 8:00 pm

Hello.

I had some problems a few weeks ago with accessing SAC, and no matter how I tried, I could not gain access to it properly.

Finally, I backed up the public folders to a PST file, backed up the user's with omcp, and started clean over.

I got everything back online, permissions are back where I would like them, I can access SAC :-), but there is some little quirky problems left. One of them has surfaced is a fairly big problem.

-> One user reports all his email is being automatically delivered to the Deleted Items folder. I went through his Outlook, and cannot see where he has even 1 rule setup. How do you correct this?

-> Several users are reporting that they have duplicate contact lists, one will be empty or unaccessable. How can you clean these out?

->Myself, I have two deleted items folders. One (where everything goes when you delete something) looks just like it should. The other, looks like a normal folder, but cannot be delleted. In webmail I can rename it, but it will not delete.

-> Yesterday, we had an extreme slowdown (and Outlook crashed on me today a couple times, very unusual) when opening or using Outlook. Is there anything to check on Scalix to verify everythings AOK?

Thanks for your help guys, Scalix rocks :-)

Tim

There are a lot of tools you can use however many of them can be destructive. You need a solid backup recovery plan before proceeding http://www.scalix.com/community/viewtopic.php?t=1922

About messages delivered to deleted items. It is also possible to create rules with swa and sxaa which won't be seen via the outlook rules wizard. Please check with the swa rules wizard to see if there are any rules. I doubt that's the problem, however.

For the troubles you listed, for each mailbox lease select Start/Run and enter:

outlook /resetfolders

to launch outlook. The /resetfolders switch is used to do exactly that, set the system folders properly. You may be able to delete the duplicate folder after that.

Don

I also meant to mention that you can run:

omscan -Afxu

to check and repair message store inconsistencies.
