How to Change the Scalix Administrator

Postby ehetzel » Mon Sep 18, 2006 10:00 am

The company I work for had scalix installed by and administrator who has recently quit.

I have been told to disable his account, I tried to change the password and scalix report that I could not change the password of the administrator.

How do I change the role of administrator to another user?

I have root access to the server that scalix is installed on but I do not have the password to the account of the old administrator.

You can use ommodu to change anything on a user if you are root. Check the man page for full usage info.

You need to give another user admin capabilities (-c admin), and you can change a password with -p. There's also a flag to disable the account there (can't remember it off the top of my head).

Logged in a root you can use ommodu.
Modifying a Password
# ommodu -o "sxadmin/mailnode" -p newpass
