Can't access mailbox in swa or with imap

Postby skallen » Wed Sep 13, 2006 5:17 pm

One of our users cannot log in with swa, and gets a lot of errors about acl when trying to logon using thunderbird or outlook with imap.
I manged to logon with outlook and scalix connector.
omscan does not say anything special on that user.

Here is the logs from swa
http://noddle.net/scalix-swa.log
http://noddle.net/catalina-out.log

Anyone got a clue?

I'm also curious to see what may be showing in the /var/opt/scalix/logs/fatal file. This seems like it may be a permissions problem. Please run:

omcheck -i -s > /tmp/omcheck ; sh /tmp/omcheck
omcheck -d -s > /tmp/omcheck ; sh /tmp/omcheck

Thanks,
Don

I've had something very similar happen twice now.

The first user to see it is one with many (50 ish) mail folders. When logging into thunderbird or the webmail interface, the connection times out. Outlook w/ scalix connect is able to connect with no problems.

I ran an omtidyallu -M, which did not clear up the problem.

After that, the problem was then encountered by a few more users, so I restarted the machine. Unfortunately I had to restart it since it was in the middle of the day, and I didn't have time to try just restarting services.

Next time this happens, I am going to try restarting the imap server daemon. And possibly the Remote Client Interface.

Are there any logs I can go back to look at that might have some information to help with this problem? Thanks.

edit: The last entry in the fatal.log is 6 days old

Hmm, I've had this happen again. This time I was able to nail it down to the imap service.

An "omoff -d 0 imap" and "omon imap" was able to correct it. Still an odd problem since I only have 20 users. Do large installations reset Scalix/certain services every week or anything like that? Just curious.
