absence/holiday message

Postby robertsiedl » Mon Jul 11, 2005 10:57 am

Hi Scalix Community,

I have scalix 9.2.0 with outlook 2000 running. Wenn a user make a absence/holiday rule work this fine. But I have the following problem:

Wenn a email goes to the user -> the absence/holiday rule answer, a email go back to sender. The sender (automatic) answer to the email, and now we have a loop.

How can I configure that the absence/holiday message will send one email to sender on a send day?

Thank you for your help.

Best regards,

Robert Siedl

robert,

this will automatically work fine if you define the rule to be an "Out of Office" type rule as they will do exactly this. In Outlook, this can be done using the "Out of Office Assistant" instead of the normal rules wizard; in Web, the Rule type to look for is "Out of Office", not "Forward".

The time between re-sends can be changed in the Server Settings tab of the Admin Console.

hope this helps,
Cheers,
Florian.

Mmmmhhh. We have a little inconsistency the way we handle the entry in general.cfg.

After you modify the settings above using SAC, edit /var/opt/scalix/sys/general.cfg and change the line that reads

LD_AUTOREPLY_EXPIRY_TIME=2d

to

LD_AUTOREPLY_EXPIRY_TIME=2

This has been fixed for the next major release. If you don't change the entry, no OOO notifications will be sent.

Cheers,

Sascha.
