How do I configure Virtual Users

Postby omnisupport » Wed Aug 23, 2006 3:50 pm

I'm trying to configure a user from (example.mail1.local.net) mail to be forwarded to an external mail server such as (example.omni.net) does anyone know how the virtual user of postfix would be done in scalix?

Any help is appreciated

I'm also looking for functionailty like this. Specifically, I would like the ability to have an email address that an external user sends mail to, that then forwards the message on to one or more email servers that are external to scalix.

For example:

bob@yahoo.com sends an email to committee@mydomain.com, which in turn forwards the email to jane@yahoo.com, bill@aol.com, greg@hotmail.com.

What is the best method to go about doing this? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

And here is the obligatory smiley for the day:

You can create rules for these accounts using the rules wizard or sxaa which is found in the admin resource kit. You may find redirecting the messages more to your liking as it does not rewrite the header as forwarding does.

In the case of committee@domain.com, if you don't need this to be a mailbox you could create a group/pdl that contains the desired names provided they are in the directory.

SXAA and forwards, re-directs

Thanks for the quick tip! SXAA works like a charm. I don't know who wrote it, but it is a great tool.
