Address Book Privacy

Postby ltai » Mon Jun 20, 2005 11:20 am

I would like a way to hide the email addresses from the System Directory in the address book. Tried unchecking the Display in Address Book option in the admin console, but whenever I type * in the search field, everyone gets displayed. I read in the forum that it is a known bug. I tried to run omexeccda after I made a change but it's not working. This is a major concern. Please advise.

The admin console option is not currently being used/followed by SWA, this is, as you described correctly, a known limitation.

The only way to hide entries from SWA would be to have some ldap criteria being setup to exclude them and change the LDAP query string for the SYSTEM directory source in SWA's partner.xml config file.

Now is it possible to disable the System Directory in the Address Book?

No, this is not possible. The system directory is very similar to Exchange's Global Address List which is also always visible in Outlook.

The user has to select his preferred directory manually once.
