Problems with omtidyu -MB -u

Postby ivo_toshev » Thu Jul 27, 2006 5:26 pm

The problem is with my mailbox. It is 1,5 GB with 15 folders
Two days ago i tryed to use full search in all folders with Thunderbird, using IMAP - this operation took forever, and i needed to restart scalix, because imap daemon took 99 % CPU usage.

Then Yuri from Scalix support - give me an advise to use:

omtidyu -MB -u "My Username".

So i did it, but - this command never ends, and ual.local eats CPU with 99% usage too.
The command just stays:

omtidyu -MB -u "My User Name"
Priming mailbox for MIME access for 'My User Name /post,umlg-sofia/CN=My User Name'
InTray: 6350 messages
OutTray: 0 messages
Folder 'Search Area': 2 items

... and never continues ( 8 hours i wait = one night ).

Any advise ?

Hi Ivo,

Is the inbox the only folder you use? What is your hardware profile like? The reason I ask is that it shouldn't take this long for a 1.5 GB mailbox, as I ran this on a 4.5GB mailbox sitting on a slow VM and it took about 1.5 hours.

If you run the same command again it should go through your Inbox very quickly and then go through the items that weren't processed the first time. If it still gets stuck at the same point, what are the error messages reported by omshowlog?

Has your performance improved in SWA for just loading the Inbox?

Cheers,
Yuri

As i wrote - i have around 15 folders , but i havent subfolders of any folder.

The problem seems is with " Folder 'Search Area': 2 items " .. this is the last line omtidyu outputs ...

I ran this command against other users folders - and there is no problems with them - but their "Search Area: " is 0 items
