POP3 Interface aborts again and again

Postby B.O.F.H. » Mon Jul 24, 2006 8:20 am

Hi,

since a few days our POP3 Interface aborts. When I restart the Interface it took round about 15 minutes and the Interface is aborted again.

I tried omoff -d0 pop3, omreset -o off pop3, omon pop3, but nothing really helps.

I searched across the board, but found nothing that matches my problems.

Can anybody helps? Or just give an idea where I could look for the problems?

Kind regards,
Thorsten

Hi,

Can you post /var/opt/scalix/fatal log around the time when the abort happens?

Thank you,
Yuri

Hi Yuri,

the log is clean... only the SMTP-Relay reports an error, but that's ok because we are using sendmail as smtp deamon. SMTP-Relay is always partitialy aborted.
The error msg occurs after restart of scalix after running the daily ommaint - script.

But there is nothing about the POP3 Interface... How can I enable the debug log for the POP3 Interface?

Thanks,
Thorsten

Does nobody have an idea how i can handle or solve this problem?

It's not possible to check every 15 minutes if the pop3 interface is up.

For information:
We use Scalix 9.1 on SuSe 9.1

Thorsten

Hi Thorsten,

Is there a particular reason you don't upgrade to version 10 of Scalix? You are 3 major versions behind now and there has been great improvements done to the product.

Cheers,
Yuri

Yes, because the new versions require a new installation of the Linux-Server with a new OS.

Thats out of the question and to expensive. Thats the productive-server and the system is not redundant.

That is why we are still using scalix 9.1
