An IMAP problem, I think...

Postby Brad789 » Thu Jun 29, 2006 7:04 pm

I'm setting up an email server and have been running various tests on it and configuring it. A few days ago I tried to log into webmail and got invalid username or password on 4 accounts I tried. Until this point webmail worked fine. I assume it will not work with any account based on these attempts. I can't access an email account through IMAP, but POP3 access works fine. I noticed someone had something similar when they lost power during an IMAP transfer, and it is possible something similar happened on this machine. Reading through posts I see people like to see omstat -a and -s output so here you go:

omstat -a

PC Monitor Started NON-STOP 0
Directory Relay Server Started 06.28.06
Notification Server Started 06.28.06 0
Shared memory daemon Started NON-STOP
Notification Monitor Started NON-STOP
Session Monitor Started NON-STOP
Container Access Monitor Started NON-STOP

Queue Manager Started NON-STOP
Item Delete Daemon Started NON-STOP
IMAP Server Daemon Started 06.28.06
SMTP Relay Started 06.28.06
Mime Browser Controller Started 06.28.06

omstat -s

Service Router Started 06.28.06 0
Local Delivery Started 06.28.06 0
Internet Mail Gateway Started 06.28.06 0
Local Client Interface Enabled 06.28.06 0
Remote Client Interface Disabling 06.25.06 0
Test Server Started 06.28.06 0
Request Server Started 06.28.06 0
Print Server Started 06.28.06 0
Bulletin Board Server Started 06.28.06 0
Background Search Service Started 06.28.06 0
CDA Server Started 06.28.06 0
POP3 interface Started 06.28.06 0
Omscan Server Started 06.28.06 0
Archiver Started 06.28.06 0

The remote client interface always says Disabling, that's probably not normal.
I uninstalled SAC and SWA and reinstalled them but that didn't fix it. I can log on to SAC as sxadmin with no problems.

I alse have an error when tomcat starts up in caa.log:

2006-06-28 11:37:24,469 ERROR [CAAConfigLoader.parseComponentNode:244] Service scalix.res, Component disabled has no class defined!

I'm running CentOS 4.3 with all updates with Scalix 10.0.1. No errors show up in sendmail's log. My hosts file contains IPs for localhost, localhost.localdoman, and the server scalix is running on. My scalix-swa_log just has failed login attempts recorded.

I hope this info helps and thanks for any help anyone might give.

If RCI is aborting, it should log something in /var/opt/scalix/logs/fatal. Please post that here.

Have you restarted the Scalix server yet?

Thanks,

Sascha.

Here's the contents of the fatal log file. It has no recent entries, I restarted the computer before posting this and it didn't create an entry in the log file

SERIOUS ERROR Database Monit(Database Monit) Tue Jun 6 15:13:01 2006
[SYS 2] No such file or directory
Pid of logging process: 2887
Current errno value: 2

SERIOUS ERROR CDA Server (CDA Server ) Sun Jun 25 17:42:50 2006
[OM 28664] There is already a CDA server process running
Pid of logging process: 3048

ERROR SMTP Relay (SMTPD Relay Pr) Sun Jun 25 18:43:14 2006
[SYS 22] Invalid argument
Pid of logging process: 2967
Current errno value: 22

ERROR SMTP Relay (SMTPD Relay Pr) Sun Jun 25 18:43:14 2006
[SYS 22] Invalid argument
Pid of logging process: 2967
Current errno value: 22

On a side note, is there a way to view that log.0 file? Or would it not contain any useful information?

Thanks a bunch

Brad
