Had you purchased a support incident and given us ssh access like I suggested in reply to your email I would have better been able to tell you what may have happened. At this point I have no idea.

Maybe they are now on the error or smerr queues? Maybe you wouldn't have had to delete all of them. Maybe one message was jamming the works. Maybe the messages were delivered? Does your fatal log give you any indication of a problem?

we just injected QM_DONT_READ_MSG_AT_START=TRUE into general.cfg

and for the moment, this work-around seems to work

but .. where _are_ the 200k msgs now? gone with the wind?

Maybe QM_MAX_FAILURES would help, too (instead of the dont_read?)



i'm running into the same problem. i've messed around with using a dnsbl and slowing down connection to sendmail. i still have the problem of having my internet mail gateway growing.

have you found any cause to this problem yet? i know my server is being hammered with spam.

the only answer i got is to buy a support contact. this really isn't an option as i'm running this server for myself and 3 family members.
