Okay now we're getting somewhere.

I was able to delete both users....but the one I renamed still showed up in SAC.

I'm rebooting the system to see if that makes a difference.

Thanks...at least we're getting somewhere
Restarted and reloaded scalix and Watson1 is still in the admin console....but now they don't show up when I do a search in command line....now that's messed up.

Monday Morning;
Sorry about the bump but just wanted to see if anyone had an idea on why the user we renamed Watson1 is still showing up in SAC?

Even after a full system reboot. No results when you omsearch, very strange.

Hi Karl,

Do an omsearch for that user and post the output here.

Thanks,
Rachel

omsearch

Postby kmcelwain » Mon Jun 19, 2006 1:48 pm

Okay I was able to add the correct user. Scalix seems to think that the user we renamed in the previous steps still exists. The first search was for the Watson1 renamed user. The second one shows the user I created and is working nicely. However, if you try to change the new users login to rWatson, you get a error of that authentication ID already exists. It doesn't...or does it...It's hiding somewhere in the system.

Did you do an:

omsearch -e s=Watson1 -m @all-attr@ -v

What does that return? Next what does:

omsearch -e s=Watson1 -m @all-attr@ -v -t h -d userlist

return?

Thanks,
Rachel

Type in:

omdelent -e s=Watson1

which will remove the user from the System Directory.

extra user in system director

Postby kmcelwain » Mon Jun 19, 2006 6:59 pm

This is what I did:

1)ommodent -e s=Dalton/ia=nancydalton@banks.k12.ga.us -n "s=Dalton1/cn=Dalton1, Nancy"

2)ommodent -e s=Dalton/ia=nancydalton@banks.k12.ga.us -n "s=Dalton1/cn=Nancy Dalton1" -t h -d userlist

3)omdelu -U (can't remember)

4)omdelent -e s=Dalton1

From here on out I realized that is was better to swap step 3 and 4...no problems since. This is similar to my previous post but the same search command that found the other user isn't producing the same results. Could it be because I didn't restart the machine?

In SAC the user shows up and Dalton1, Nancy but no info obviously.

[root@mail ~]# omsearch -e s=Dalton1 -m @all-attr@ -v
[OM 16954] Entry not in the Directory

[root@mail ~]# omsearch -e s=Dalton1 -m @all-attr@ -v -t h -d userlist [OM 16954] Entry not in the Directory

It sounds like it may be cached in browser because if it's not in the system directory, then it won't show up in SAC. You can verify this by typing:

omsearch -e s=Dalton* -m @all-attr@ -v

and see what shows up then. If the name doesn't show up, try clearing your browser cache and see what happens.

One other thing, in Step 2, you changed the userlist entries CN= field from lastname, firstname to firstname lastname which decoupled it from system directory entry.

Thanks,
Rachel

Hi Rachel,

First...it only shows the current user...the right one that didn'tneed to be deleted. Dalton1 didn't show up. I quoted the steps below that you gave me from the previous page....I wasn't sure what Step 2 did but it worked the first time. It has worked like a charm so far.

But the user is still in the list after clearing the cache.

Hi Karl,

Hmm... that's very odd. Okay, let's do it this way:

ommodent -e s=watson/ia=rredmond@banks.k12.ga.us -n "s=Watson1/cn=Watson1, Robin"
ommodent -e s=watson/ia=rredmond@banks.k12.ga.us -n "s=Watson1/cn=Robin Watson1" -t h -d userlist

Now should have two unique entries, one called Robin Watson and one called Robin Watson1.

Thanks,
Rachel

figured it out...I actually did a typo when I was modifying the user.

I changed the s value to s=sims1/cn=Dalton1, Nancy.

Wen't back through the command line history and bang there is was.

Did a omdelent -e s=Sims1 and guess what it found and deleted.

Thanks again...typo on my part....we are up and running and production stable....yeah
