Missing iCal Files

Postby jgunther » Wed Jun 14, 2006 10:56 pm

Since moving to Scalix's (version 10) IMAP interface, we have noticed that meeting invitations that come from outside our company are missing a *.ics file. We see the textual content of the invite, just not the calendar file. See below:

When: Monday, June 12, 2006 1:00 PM-2:00 PM (GMT-08:00) Pacific Time (US & Canada); Tijuana.

I have confirmed that each employee's Scalix account is defined as a premium user. Does anyone have any idea what might be causing this problem?

Are you on 10.0.0 or 10.0.1? We made some changes in 10.0.1 to would allow non-Premium users to send calendar items.

Thanks,
Rachel

We are running 10.0.1.3 on the server side. Do you have any other ideas?

What is creating these ICS files? Can you post an example and I'll try to send it through our system.

Thanks,
Rachel

The meeting invitations are coming from a Microsoft Exchange server that is outside our control (it is a client of ours).

Do you have access to a Microsoft Exchange server? If so, can you send me a meeting invitation?

Thanks!

You can just go into Outlook, create an appointment, then do a Save As... and save it as an ICS file. Now go into something like gmail and send that ICS file to yourself as an attachment. Does it go through?

Thanks,
Rachel

Our company doesn't use Outlook -- we use Macs. However, I was able to export an iCal event and send it through Gmail. It did appear properly.

Is this an issue with Microsoft Exchange?

It may very well be. Why don't you have them send you an ICS file to your Gmail account and see what you get. If it looks valid, then send that to Scalix and see what happens.

Thanks,
Rachel
