Meeting requests kill local delivery

Postby schumi » Tue May 30, 2006 9:45 am

Hi

Whenever someone sends a meeting request to someone else on the same server, that message hangs in the local delivery queue, and the service stops. The logs show the following:

Code: Select all

The meeting request does actually get delivered to the recipient, but doesn't get deleted from the queue. As soon as the recipient sends a response, that gets delivered, but the service dies as well.

Opening the other person's calendar works, as well as seeing the meeting planner.

Cheers
Chris

I'm going to need more information from you on this given that we have a large number of customers sending meeting requests without this happening so I suspect that the meeting request contains other properties.

Can you outline the process that your users use to send the meeting request and also whether the request is for a recurring meeting, contains attachments etc.

Also, how many internet addresses do your users have on their directory entries ?

Cheers

Dave

Hi Dave

I've been able to reproduce the error on my testing accounts, and what I do is the following:

In Outlook, go to New, Meeting Request. Then I switch to the planner window, enter the recipient, choose date and time, and hit send. That was just a one-time meeting without any attachments or notes added to it. I don't know how your large number of customers do a meeting request, but that seems to be the way to it on Outlook...

I have tried sending it as iCal, I have tried not sending it as iCal, I've had the answer request switched on and off, all of them had the same result.

I have tested sending meeting request before going productive with that server, on these same testing accounts, and they worked fine. I don't really know where to start looking for errors.

[edit]
We have up to 6 e-mail addresses per user. Also, I have found that someone else seems to have the same problem: http://www.scalix.com/community/viewtopic.php?t=2045. However, I have the correct libical-version installed, and even tried to reinstall that, without success for the issue at hand.

Cheers
Chris
