Mail Account / Store dies - reason Code 5?

Hope someone can help, other day someone pointed out that mail to one of the domains / accounts was bouncing, tested it locally and was true, quick restart of scalix and fixed. Except it's happened every day now, and I have no mena sof knowing other than sending myself an email every 5 mins to see if it bounces. Bounce looks like;

Note: All mail for @flish.co.uk goes to this one account, other accounts are not effected.

If memory serves senhding an email locally (ie from one Scalix account to the one that dies) generates the same bounce, but doesn't hit sendmail (/var/log/mail) so kinda hard to tell. I think there was something in the fatal log but of course lost it when restarted, along with an awful lot of mail as far as I can tell. I though Scalix was more resilient than this?

As it stands I can't obvously see anything died, service router and all other services up, nothing in queues, just one particular account bouncing in the background.

(NB: Searched and saw something about a duff filter, so deleted and recreated them all yesterday from the rules wizard, apparently no joy / or still buggered)

The reason I ask is that both older versions had problems if you create an autoreply without any text. In the case of Scalix Connect for Outlook, if you create an Out Of Office reply without text, that is usually the cause.

It's only quick if I know the millisecond it happens, these are hard bounces, so upstream MTA's aren't queueing to retry, they're giving up there and then, so I'm using mail, and of course as I've never seen it I don't what I've missed, and hence can't do anything about it.

I use Connector on one account, (most just through Thunderbird) and have tried sxaa for some other rules, but none of them are (or have been) auto responders, only rules I have are move to folders, and in one case a forward on outside

If by AutoFile we mean 'move to a Folder' then yes, in fact that account has some Outlook Rules (It's the account that's also viewed from Outlook, but not the account that dies. It has 5 rules that are move to folder, 4 are Outlook ones.

That said, it looks like Outlook has 'lost' the Scalix rules plugin, as going to Rules in Outlook brings up the original Outlook rules wizard. Am going to have to play and re-install the connector to see if I can get it back, then I'll try killing the rules and re-creating from the web based rules wizard.

Of which there are only two DirectRef's, the first and most listed one is Spam, but actually didn't trigger the threshold so wasn't being filtered away by a rule, in fact I can't see any rules that would touch it. Second ref is definately not subject to any rules as there's none setup, it's the postmaster account.

But, I have just noticed a rule that I don're recognise on the first account, it's titled AutoAction #450 Redirect and when I look at it with sxaa I get;

omdref on first one show the postmaster account, again this one has no rules of filters, jsut a catchment box for certain diag mails etc so can't see how this could be the cause. The second was an unfiltered mail hitting another account. Yet again not the account that actually locks up, although the first error for that second ref does mention the account that seems to keep locking up it's message store;

Now, I have seen these 'queue manager not running' messages at around midnight before, however I have always assumed that was related to the backup script running or similar. It's modified from within these forums and does a full service stop / start during the process. Could be wrong of course. The rest, at casual glance, just looks like something broke, badly.

Any ideas anyone? Or have I managed to find one of those unknown / unreported problems that doesn't exist, except of course it does, and it's loosing me mail.

I haven't, no. Mostly because not seen anything that would suggest this is a solution! From waht I've seen 10.0.1 seemed mostly a bigger diversion between CE Raw and and the pay for/supportable versions.

Will look at it as an option, can you direct me to a changelog between 10.0.0 and 10.0.1, only one I've found so far is at http://www.scalix.com/documents/RELEASE_NOTES.html and that's merged and unclear?

Ok, feeling brave, upgraded without incident (to my knowledge), only thing noticed as checking around afterwards was that the Item Structure Server had stopped (or even not started), so started this manually, and seems to have stayed put.

Will watch carefully and see if the world becomes happier.

Now, this could be unrelated, but looking at timestamps, the cron job to backup scalix was running, and bang on midnight it shuts down Scalix ( a literal /etc/init.d.scalix/stop) which I suspect is the point at which this is happenning. Obviosuly it starts Scalix up again one it's r-synced the data fodler so all starts working again. Could this be related? or completely independent?
