SpamAssassin and MIMEDefang - Scalix Integration

For a spam filter, I am setting up SpamAssassin. I have done some reading up on what Milter to use, and for the most part, scalix recommends Spamass milter, but I've also read that MIMEDefang is better. Is it ok to use MIMEDefang as the milter for SpamAssassin, or should I stick to Spamass? Please help me to understand the repercussions of using a milter other than the one recommended by Scalix.

I believe you can use any milter, but only spamass-milter is supported by Scalix.

Since scalix just hands over the messages to spamassassin, any milter that is correctly configured with spamassassin will be able to filter the messages, however, the only milter that Scalix support officially is spamass-milter, and then -- only under the officially supported Linux distributions.

By the way, if you get it running -- it would be nice if you could post back with a howto :)
