SWA Logon fails for one user

This is on my laptop, where I have a user for myself, and three others for testing stuff. What a real bummer it's my account and all the testing ones work fine.

I setup Mailwasher yesterday. I set Mailwasher to accept the first 100 messages for training and then start sending junk mail to junk@mydomain. So this morning I created junk@mydomain as a user in scalix. All went good, I sent an email from my account to junk, logged on as junk to confirm that worked, went to log on as myself and I get "invalid username or password". I can always logon to SAC with my username and any of the different passwords I try, but never into SWA.

I've tried changing the password in SAC, with and without setting change password. Without, I still get invalid message. With, If I purposely enter the wrong password before doing the change, I get the invalid message, so I enter the correct(new) password, and I'm asked to change it, where I'm asked to confirm and change, which produces an "already connected" error window.

I've tried changing the password with ommodu. Done omshowu and greped for pid. Tried stopping and starting imap, then imap and rci, making sure to ps -ef | grep imap(and rci) after stopping. Getting more ideas as I searched further. I've tried changing the user from premium, back to standard, and back to premium. I've rebooted the machine, and checked that the 32bit version of SASL is installed.

I am considering doing omcpoutu, and recreating the user, but thought I'd post here for any other ideas.

Well, it got too much for me being without email. So I did omcpoutu, deleted, then created my user again, and did omcpinu.

Now I'm good to go, but I wonder what happened. On the other, being that I'm using beta 2, it's probably irrelevant.

I'm getting the same thing in Scalix 10 actually.

The user first complained that her Sent Items box was unexplainably empty. I reset her password to something so I could get in, and it let me in without problems. Then when I confirmed that it showed that her sent items were empty, I opened my mail via SWA to check and see if it clears out old sent emails like it does the deleted items automatically (never really paid too much attention to my sent items folder to know if it did or not. Well, Scalix didn't like me logging into SWA twice at the same time with two different accounts, and told me that it disconnected my first login (the one with the sent items problem).

Now, even after I have closed all browser windows, etc, it tells me invalid username/password when I try to login as that user. I thought that the account might have been locked, so I checked, and it wasn't. I thought the user might have used the default password to get into their mailbox and change the password again, so I called the user, told them to stay out of their email, reset the password again, and still invalid login message. So this time I manually locked the account, applied the settings, unlocked the account, applied the settings, and reset the password to a totally different password. Tried it again, and I still get invalid login.

So, I tried my account again, and it works like a champ. Any ideas on this? I dont really want to reboot the server in the middle of the day just on a whim unless I need to.

Thanks!

Well, I saw this post in my searching, and decided to reply to it since it sounded exactly like my problem.

I then continued my searching for a solution, found this post and not only did it fix my login problem, but also her sent items are back!

Very strange, but I'm glad it's fixed!

(Posting this solution for future frustrated people's sake!)
