PDA / ActiveSync working

Postby Drazyl » Fri Feb 16, 2007 7:01 am

Finally managed to get ActiveSync working between Scalix and my PDA. It appears to work if I only synchronise Calendar, Contacts and To Do lists.

There seems to be a problem synchronising Calendar items that have a title but no actual text, so I had to go through and add this into existing items to get them to sync.

that's interesting.

if you are willing to help identifying the pattern a bit better, i'll help you in getting it fixed in the product... :-)

I.e. can you create a calendar with a single entry that fails to sync and then, when you modify the item, actually does sync?

If you can do this, could you possibly open a bug in bugzilla.scalix.com, describing the process and the exact software version(s) of scalix, outlook, and activesync you're using?

Thanks,
Florian.

activesync

Hi Drazyl,

I have some troubles with my pda and activesync, what do you intend withe "actual text". Do you mean the "Subject Line" (jsut over the "Location one") or the usualy big space at the bottom of the Outlook Calendar form ?

Cheers,

greg

I have couple Outlook 2002 users, and ActiveSync works fine (Calendar, Contacts, To-Do) when smartcache icon is green, otherwords it is not sync-ing with the server.

BTW, I use WirelessSync (Verizon) IMAP configuration to push emails to the device.

This could be due to the presence of large volume of items on first sync or specific large items such as a calendar item with many meeting attendees. Some targeted instances of this have been fixed in Activesync 4.5
