Scalix Wiki -> FAQ -> I do an offline backup nightly and when Scalix restarts, the Item Structure Service doesn’t start. Why?
By default, the Item Structure Server (ISS) is "stopped" after startup. This intentional behaviour as the proper use of this service requires additional preparation. Scalix is fully operational even without this service.
1) To start this service all the time, enter:
omsetsvc -a iss Y
2) The next time you omshut/omrc, do an omstat -a and you'll notice that the ISS is "Started".
