Yes you can. Although the Outlook Connector and Scalix Web Access will not be made available as source code, you will be able to mix and match binary downloads (for example Community Edition) and Open Source components to build your own customized system. Scalix Web Access is based on Java technology, so not providing this in source code form will not affect portability.

I've been using Scalix Community Edition. Do I have to make any changes now that your open source code is available?

Our release of source code will not affect how you use Community Edition; you can continue enjoying Scalix Community Edition as always. We have delivered source code for some of our software components. These components are in the base code for all of our product editions – Community Edition, Small Business Edition, and Enterprise Edition. We will continue to make the editions available.

Is Scalix Enterprise Edition based on the same code as Scalix open source software?

The open source components are in the base code for all of our product editions – Community Edition, Small Business Edition, and Enterprise Edition. We will continue to make the editions available.

Since the Outlook Connector and SWA will not be available as open source, if I download the open source server components, can I use those clients with it?
