I have exact the same issue...

If you change the IA in the command to 167

see the man page for omaddu

An internet address for each user can optionally be configured. If it is not supplied, and Automatic Internet Address Mapping is enabled, and the -Q
option is not used, the internet address is automatically generated if possible. The internet address attribute (167,INTERNET-ADDR or IA) is appended to
the name in ´/´-separated name=value format, e.g.:

works if you perform it by hand..

you will have to perform the other installation-tasks by hand.

You can use the scalix-installer to perform a reconfig (option 2) for all other parts of the installation but it is safe to just choose 235678 and worry aobut 1 and 4 later (in my case, when i encounterd this problem the DB failes aswell for the queryadmin user is not created either)

i have solved this problem by reinstalling underlying OS

I got the same error while try to install scalix on a fresh and up to date Cent-OS 5.5. I don't understand why the OS should affect omaddu/scalix.

Anybody knows the last release installing without the error?

I contacted Scalix support and we investigated the case and we noticed that the installation gave errors in parsing some files not included in the installation

Hello,
I have the same problem and I also resolved it by starting the command by hand.
But now I have two problems.
The first one is a problem with the apache. Everytime when I reboot my server there is an error on the /sac and /webmail site "Service Temporarily Unavailable". But when I stop and restart the apache it works.
The next problem is that I can't sign in on the sac or webmail site. He always tells me that the username or the pasword is wrong. I think it's because of the error during the installation.
Can somebody help me?

Ha! i have the exact same problem!

The last time i solved it by reinstalling the os (Centos) from a dvd instead of pulling it from a centos mirror..

This time i don't have the time or the resources to do so.

It turns out that (at least during my limited tests with less than one hour of effort) the problem is caused by a newer version of the glibc.
After running a yum update I had 2.5-49.el5_5.7 of glibc (and glibc-common) installed and omcnvinst (which is called during the installation) terminated as described before.

Its issue-date is matching with the experiences here.

@scalix-development, this could be solved bij making the RPM's enviroment aware (so put the dependancies in the RPM as any other software package does!) so make sure the correct version of glibc is installed..

I have installed a scalix community edition server on centos5.6
First I had the issues mentioned in this thread before. Then I did the modifications from ghostorchids posts. After that installation was fine so far I can see. In sac I could add some Users and webmail is working fine. Except Outlook2010 crashes immediatly after starting it.

This is fairly off topic , Your initial issue is resolved by the mentioned post. Your current problem will be solved bij NOT using outlook 2010 because it is not supported yet. The upcoming release will support outlook 2010.

Just to be curious: are you using a german outlook / windows?

Sorry for beeing offtopic. I have been thinking that these problems exist because I am using unsupported centos 5.6
Yes I have Windows and office in german.
When will the upcoming release be available? Unfortunately I can´t buy Office 2007 anymore.
