Is there a way to define the default SWA address book search

When clicking on the address book from swa - the default search try to search the entire address book and show the first part of the list so you can browse.

Is there a way to tune or change the default search?

We have 8k entries in the address book, so the default search doesn't return any values.
we get an error has occurred message, contact your sysadmin if it persists #A...

Not sure of what rules it uses to return the list of address it returns. Seems to be alpha at first then toward the end of the list it seems to have jumped a few.

Anyone know how to get the properties of an address book entry via SWA?

At times we like to lookup info including phone # etc..
