Install of 11.3 after un-install of 11.2 problems

Postby GCamp » Tue Jan 08, 2008 4:35 pm

Due to unreconsilable problems (of my own making) I found it necessary to do an un-install of 11.1 before installing 11.3 and I am getting the following error message during the install of 11.3

Code: Select all

2008-01-08 15:19:54,959 INFO Creating Scalix instance...(please wait -- this might take several minutes)
2008-01-08 15:19:57,461 CRITICAL Failed calling command '/opt/scalix/bin/ommakeom -h scalix.int.wmpress.org ' with exit code 1 msg ['ommakeom: "scalix" is already in the global configuration file']
2008-01-08 15:19:57,463 CRITICAL Operation failed: config-server function create_scalix_instance failed: Msg: Failed calling command '/opt/scalix/bin/ommakeom -h scalix.int.wmpress.org ' with exit code 1 msg ['ommakeom: "scalix" is already in the global configuration file']
2008-01-08 15:19:57,464 ERROR Operation failed: Aborting server configuration
2008-01-08 15:20:01,924 INFO Ending Scalix Installer - Msg: Failed to configure server

I am using the same configuration parameters as the original. What is still left in the system from the previous installation? What can I do to clear these entries out of the global configuration file?

Is scalix where it belongs? /var/opt/scalix/??/s/

or is it at /var/opt/scalix/??/s/??/s/

I've seen that a few times. Also I've seen where it didn't migrate correctly, and it's still at /var/opt/scalix/

In any case, can you post the /etc/opt/scalix/instance.cfg and /opt/scalix/global/config?

Thanks
Kev.

Please forgive me for not updating this post.

I found out that there were still an instance.cfg file remaining from the previous version under /etc/opt/scalix. Once I deleted these files the Install proceeded normally.

Thanks for the reply.
