Correcting time on server "loses" emails

Postby MrDan » Tue Aug 14, 2007 6:16 am

Hello,

We currently have an issue with our mail server that our NTP client service stopped working, and over a period of time the system clock drifted 3 days into the future.

To resolve this I did the following:

    Stopped the scalix services
Fixed the NTP service and corrected the time on the box
Cleared all the IMAP cache folders
    Started the scalix services

This appeared to fix the issue, but then all the emails that had been dated with a future timestamp have now disseapared!!

Does anyone have any suggestions on getting these messages back? Or will they just appear once the system time reaches the time that the emails were timestamped?

I also tried doing a full scan using "/opt/scalix/bin/omscan -Aafvx" to see if that would fix the issue, but it didnt. Server is running OpenSuse 10.1 with Scalix 11.1.0

Thank you for any suggestions

Dan

Dan,

if ou use omcontain, can you see those emails in a mailbox?
Seems strange, everyone would have the issue every time they moved between daylight saving time?

Mick
