cyrus sasl 32 bit problem

Postby SaltamonteZ » Mon Jun 18, 2007 12:25 pm

Hi,

trying to install scalix 11.1.0 under Novell SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 10 and keep getting the following error message:

...
WARNING:merlin:File /root/scalix-11.1.0-GA/software/scalix_server/scalix-tomcat-connector-11.1.0.45-1.sles10.i586.rpm is not for this platform

Found the following thread that seemed to tackle the problem but didn´t work for me:
viewtopic.php?t=6913&highlight=cyrussaslplain

There is also a tracked and supposedly fixed bug protocol here:
http://bugzilla.scalix.com/show_bug.cgi?id=13442

Browsed through all the SUSE Installation CDs and found some Cyrus-Sasl .rpm`s but wasn´t able to install them because it says thery are already installed.

Running out of ideas now

Thx in advance for help

What are you running this on for hardware?
64 or 32 bit?

64 bit. Also thought that might be the problem, but in the Scalix documentation it says it should work with a 64 bit system.

I'll put some additional stuff here:

rpm -qa |grep cyrus
--------------------------------
cyrus-sasl-otp-2.1.21-18.4
cyrus-sasl-32bit-2.1.21-18.4

cyrus-sasl-2.1.21-18.4
cyrus-sasl-gssapi-2.1.21-18.4
cyrus-sasl-plain-2.1.21-18.4

find /usr/lib* -name "*sasl*"

Hi,

ich had the same error and i simply installed(rpm -ivh ...) the cyrus-sasl staff from the 32bit SLES 10 Version. I believe it was on CD4.

ok, trying to get the 32-bit cyrus-sasl installed on 64-bit SuSE on an AMD dual core, but when I go to install it using rpm it says that the package is already isntalled. When I go to remove it (the 64-bit rpm of the 32-bit version), it lists a huge list of dependencies.

What do I do, just uninstall it and ignore the dependencies? Will it allow me to do that and just accept the replacement 32-bit package?
