Individual User Archive

Postby davidz » Thu Jun 07, 2007 4:28 pm

I need to have and archive type feature but only for certain users, like 2 or 3. I know the archive stuff in general.cfg works for all email, but is there way to do it for just specific people? Maybe with rules??

Hi!

For backup and restore of a user's mailbox, you can use sxmboxexp and sxmboximp
respectively. Check out the man pages of these commands for details.

Hope this helps.

Thanks,
Subir

I should have made myself more clear, I don't need a backup. I need a live copy of a person's email box. Just like in archiving, I need to BCC a copy of all the incoming and outgoing email to another mailbox on the system. So at any time the bosses can login to the secondary mailbox and monitor this persons email activity.

Thanks again,
David

Hi David!

You cannot have rules on outgoing mails, for incoming mails use sxaa utility to forward
mail and retaining a copy in mailbox.

Thanks,

I do think it is a basic feature of in many other mail server like Exchange, MDaemon, etc. and many of my client ask for it, would Scalix consider to add this one in future release?

Thanks for the response but this is not an option nor does it solve my problem... Any other suggestions?
