Existing user cannot receive email.

Hi there,

I'm using Scalix 10 serving almost 100 email accounts. Yesterday I had to restore a specific mailbox. The problem now is that this user cannot receive email.

When people try to send an email to this user they get the error "User unknow". At the server I entered the following command getting the same result:

The strange thing is that the user really exists (information is obfuscated):

How did you do the export/import? Using omcpoutu/omcpinu?

Can check the settings against a working user? Make sure the mailnode is the same as they were before.

Also try omsearch -s | grep <user name> and see if they are there.

Hi Shredder, thanks for your reply.

I'm using the backup/restore scripts existing at the following topic:

Those scripts use the omcpoutu/omcpinu commands. I have checked and the node where that user is placed (at least, I think so...) is the same as where all the others users are placed (and they are getting correctly email messages).

Now, when I try to search for the user, as you suggested, I do not get any result! I'm not understanding what is happening: the user shows up when I use the omshowu command, but it doesn't shows up when I use the omsearch command.

Any ideas?

OK. I'm guessing the user deletion didn't work correctly, so you can either delete the user again, make sure they are gone with omshowu, recreate them, check that both entries exist (omshowu and omsearch -s), and then reimport the user.

OR

we can figure out what the correct entries should be to do an omaddent to create that part.

I would go with the recreation to make sure everything gets recreated correctly.

Hi Shredder,

It worked!

I manually deleted and added the user. Then, using the omcpinu command I imported the mailbox, restarted the server, and now everything is working fine!
