Installation Fails at "Creating Scalix Server message

Hey all -

Slight problem installing scalix-11.0.2.1-GA. .. fails at "Creating Scalix Server message store". Installer output below, with tail of /var/log/scalix-installer-20070412.log below that.

Any ideas on how to resolve this?

Hi!

I suggest uninstalling all the components. After they have been uninstalled please make sure
that /opt/scalix*, /etc/opt/scalix*, and /var/opt/scalix/* are deleted. Then re-install Scalix.

If you have manually created a user/group 'scalix', delete those as well before you try to
re-install Scalix.

I made sure to remove the directories as instructed. The only one existing after the uninstaller ran was /var/opt/scalix - rm -rf'd it and checked for the users you mentioned. Nope, no users like that. So I re-ran the installer (GUI this time).

Annnd...still fails at same point with same error.

Any ideas what I'm doing wrong?
(FYI - I just noticed scalix rev'd the community edition to 11.0.3 (i've got 11.0.2.1-GA) - just started a download of scalix-11.0.3-GA-core-fc5-intel.tgz in another window. ETA 7 min and I'll try with that if I don't hear anything back on this board.)

Right on - well, that fixed it.

If I could, I would recommend that the installer check for the missing alias as it does check for a missing FQDN - because I had no idea that the errors I was seeing would be caused by a missing alias in the hosts file.

I've been trying to track down this error off an on for over two weeks now - and knowing that it was something as simple as 5 missing letters from my hosts file feels quite frustrating - and those two weeks could have been saved, had the installer checked for that at the dependencies check that it does on the network for the FQDN.

Anyway, just my $0.02 USD.

But, after all that's said - I do want to say thanks for your help - I really do appreciate you taking the time to answer my questions. Cheers!
