Support for POP before SMTP / SMTP after POP / DRAC

Hello,

I have a mobile phone (Nokia E61) which does not seem to support natively SMTP Authentication... it seems it is supposed to use POPbSMTP which, I know, really sucks and, I know, is not supported by Scalix.

I saw that there are many patches for sendmail to use this configuration and that they all rely on the POP3/IMAP daemon to write something in a log file that can be later parsed for a succesful authentication. A separate daemon then reads these logs and unblock the clients IP address for relaying for a certain period of time.
Or, even better imho, in the DRAC implementation, to modify the POP daemon source to use RPCs to communicate with DRAC daemon which in turn modify sendmail access map.

I raised POP3 Interface logging level to "all messages" (and restarted the interface, all from SAC).

Unfortunately, I cannot find any evidence of a succesful attempt in the logs ... so no deal :(

My question is: Is there any (other) way to accomplish what I am trying to do?

And... could you consider implementing the DRAC RPCs in the POP3/IMAP in a future release? (See: http://mail.cc.umanitoba.ca/drac/ for reference).

PS: I am using SCALIX 11.0.2.1 EE.

Hi,

I have Scalix 11.0.1 server and I can authenticate and send/receive emails from both Nokia E61 and E62. In Scalix case sendmail does not handle the authentication but Scalix itself. There should be something incorrect either on the Scalix or the Nokia config.
