EXIM and piping into Scalix

Postby scholes » Wed Nov 15, 2006 3:11 pm

Hi all

Modifying the unix.mapper to use sendmail.exim -bs gets outgoing mail sent OK using Exim. Has anyone got an idea of how to pipe messages back into scalix using Exim? I really need to use Exim as it has so many features that are easily configured. I wouldn't attempt trying this stuff with sendmail. An earlier post showed how sendmail delivers to Scalix but it all seems typically cryptic and I can't translate it to English :D .Perhaps a postfix pipe might give me some idea if anyone has done that.

Thanks

Mike Scholes.

Most probably you are refering to a post of mine.
I have the same situation as you describe.
According to Scalix on the Linux-World-Expo, there is a new Interface to make connecting from other MTAs more easy, but I have not found the documentation yet....

The posted patch is cryptic, because it is taken from the already converted sendmail.cf file.
This file is generated by the m4 macro-processor.

Although I didn't find the pipe method I was able to get everything working with Exim, I have posted the result in this forum under Exim and Scalix succeeded. Should be easy to replicate in any MTA.
