Cross platform calendar sharing

Hi,
I'm trying to figure out a way that Windows users (using Outlook Connect) and Mac OS X users (using webmail / iCal / Sunbird) can see eachothers' calendars or at least all be able to access one public calendar.
Is there any way to subscribe to another user's calendar when logged into iCal / webmail?
Is there any way to subscribe to a public calendar in a public folder using iCal?
