mmmm ... interesting question. There's a few options you can try. As always, set up a test server first.

  • omcpoutu from OM should be able to import the mail into an account in Scalix with omcpinu. You will lose folder permissions and auto-actions, though, so be prepared for that. Also, you will have to set up a new Scalix server with all the user accounts pre-done, then import the emails.
  • If you're REALLY adventurous, download and install Scalix 10.0.5, copy your OM mailstore over (preserve ownerships and permissions) and use ompatchom to upgrade it. Then from there upgrade to Scalix 11.4.3. I would not recommend this option, but it may work for you.

The preferred way to migrate the user data is omcpoutu/omcpinu. There is a 2 GB file size limit in Openmail and Samsung Contact without a workaround.
For Public Folders the easiest way is to use Outlook (copy to a PST-file)
Server side Rules (aka Auto-Actions) can be copied to the new system. Basically just copy the 3[def].* files and place them in the correct directory.
User-Attributes (including passwords) can be applied to Scalix.
Its even possible to migrate permissions (we have written a tool for this task), but this make not much sense for smaller installations.

This is the proven way. There are experiences in the 5 digit user- and 3 digit server range.
A copy of the messagestore and the ompatchom procedure might be the real adventure.
