ASSP to validate local addresses against Scalix's LDAP

Postby BaldBoy » Tue Apr 01, 2008 8:51 pm

If you want your ASSP to check your localAddresses do the following in ASSP configuration

  • go to LDAP Setup section
  • in LDAP Host(s) enter the FQN or IP address of the server running Scalix (in most cases it should be the same name or IP address you have entered in SMTP Destination field)
  • leave LDAP Login and LDAP password blank
  • in LDAP Root Container enter "o=scalix" (without quotes)
  • leave LDAP Filter for Local Domains blank
  • in LDAP Filter for Local Addresses enter "(mail=EMAILADDRESS)" without quotes: the "EMAILADDRESS" literal will be replaced with the incoming email address being searched
  • ensure LDAP failures return false is checked
  • go to Validate Local Addresses section
  • ensure Validate local addresses to conform with RFC 822 is checked
  • ensure Do LDAP lookup for valid local addresses is checked
  • if you have anything in Lookup valid Local Addresses from here clear it. If you keep any value here be warned that those addresses will be considered valid regardless their presence (or not) in Scalix's SYSTEM address list.
  • apply your configuration

Tested and working on Scalix 11.3 and ASSP 1.3.3.8
