PDA integration recommendations

Postby 1pwarnagi » Thu Apr 24, 2008 12:39 pm

Hi all, I am trying to decide which PDA would work best with Scalix for my company. The most important items are email and calendar. Email is easy because you can just IMAP or SIMAP, but the calendar is another story. Are there any PDAs what will help to sync the calendar or are we stuck with MSFT s(t)ync?

Thanks,
Warny

There is a thread about a Funambol alpha connector, but it was never completed by the user doing it. This would support any SyncML-capable device and will be free.

The second option is NotifyLink from Notify. You will have to contact them for a list of supported devices. Customer feedback was that it works very well. Commercial add-on to Scalix.

The third option is the long-discussed ActiveSync connector, which as Florian stated before in the Feedback forum (I think that's where) will likely also require a license fee. This should work on any phone that has the neccesary client (Symbian & Windows Mobile devices). However, it is not released yet, so I cannot comment on how well it works or which devices are supported.
