SpamAssassin Trying to Write to Root

Postby dougp23 » Thu Aug 09, 2007 8:36 am

I keep getting these in my maillog:

Aug 9 08:03:18 qmail spamd[20668]: spamd: creating default_prefs: /root/.spamassassin/user_prefs
Aug 9 08:03:18 qmail spamd[20668]: mkdir /root/.spamassassin: Permission denied at /usr/lib/perl5/vendor_perl/5.8.5/Mail/SpamAssassin.pm line 1536
Aug 9 08:03:18 qmail spamd[20668]: config: cannot write to /root/.spamassassin/user_prefs: Permission denied
Aug 9 08:03:18 qmail spamd[20668]: spamd: failed to create readable default_prefs: /root/.spamassassin/user_prefs
Aug 9 08:03:18 qmail spamd[20668]: mkdir /root/.spamassassin: Permission denied at /usr/lib/perl5/vendor_perl/5.8.5/Mail/SpamAssassin.pm line 1536
Aug 9 08:03:18 qmail spamd[20668]: spamd: processing message <200708091203.l79C30NT026524@qmail.newmarketnh.gov> for root:501
Aug 9 08:03:20 qmail spamd[20668]: mkdir /root/.spamassassin: Permission denied at /usr/lib/perl5/vendor_perl/5.8.5/Mail/SpamAssassin.pm line 1536
Aug 9 08:03:20 qmail spamd[20668]: locker: safe_lock: cannot create tmp lockfile /root/.spamassassin/auto-whitelist.lock.qmail.somesite.gov.20668 for /root/.spamassassin/auto-whitelist.lock: Permission denied
Aug 9 08:03:20 qmail spamd[20668]: auto-whitelist: open of auto-whitelist file failed: locker: safe_lock: cannot create tmp lockfile /root/.spamassassin/auto-whitelist.lock.qmail.somesite.gov.20668 for /root/.spamassassin/auto-whitelist.lock: Permission denied

What this means is Bayes can't work, auto Whitelistig can't work, etc etc

And then these:

Aug 9 08:03:22 qmail sendmail[26524]: l79C30NT026524: Losing ./qfl79C30NT026524: savemail panic
Aug 9 08:03:22 qmail sendmail[26524]: l79C30NT026524: SYSERR(root): savemail: cannot save rejected email anywhere

Any ideas how to better integrate spamassassin (I have tried setting the u flag in spamd, but no difference)

Thanks.
