explain How To Amavisd-Milter

Hi,

can somebody explain me how this milter works?

On Port 25 sendmail gets the Message and took it to the milter. Then ClamAV connect to the unix socket and scans the mail. After that spamassassin connects to the milter (unix socket) and scans the mail. Then sendmail took the message to scalix.

Is this correct?

And I'd like to know if the HowTos/SpamAssassin would also work with Postfix instead of sendmail? Could anybody explain that to me?
