why trend micro iscan alway corrupt messages?

Postby akoei » Thu Jul 05, 2007 2:50 pm

I have setup ClamAV, works fine. But when I use the same way to setup Trend Micro InterScan VirusWall, all messages, no matter they are internal, external, no-virus, or virus-contained, are stucked in "corrupt messages" queue! It seems iscan engine corrupt every messages, right? or am I wrong somewhere?

I have seen that before when my ClamAV is misbehaving. It could be that the script used to access the scanner calls it with incorrect parameters or such. Or that Trend doesn't have permission to scan the Scalix directory, though that may cause the SR to abort. I would suggest you use the same parameters in the script to manually call Trend and see what happens.

If there is something wrong with the way anti-virus has been integrated with Scalix's
Service Router, then messages are moved to the ERROR queue.

The reason for this is that it is seen as being dangerous to deliver mail which might contain viruses and also, this should make it clear that there is a problem with the setup, where silently delivering mail would not.

omshowlog output might help to diagnose why anti-virus integration isn't working.
Once it is working, you can resubmit all the messages on the error queue using :

Code: Select all

omresub -q ERROR
