Change SAC port

Postby axslingr » Fri Nov 30, 2007 6:53 pm

Is there any way to change the port SAC listens on? I don't really like having it available to the world on port 80 along with SWA.

TIA,
Lance

It's quite possible (I do it on my machines), but maybe not easy, unless you're very comfortable with Apache and Tomcat configurations. Some options you can try:

1) Rewrite the virtual host configurations so a certain vhost only serves out SWA, while another does SWA+SAC, maybe.

2) Put some access control on the SAC part of the Apache config so only certain machines can access it.

3) Remove the SAC configs from the Apache vhost and have Tomcat listen on another port, and serve out SAC that way.

Thanks Valerion! I don't have a problem messing around with this test machine I've got. I just can't seem to figure out which files hold the SAC config. Would it be easier to bind a virtual ipaddress to the server and have sac listen on that address?

That would depend on your configuration and abilities :) It won't be hard to do, if you understand Apache.

Have a look in /etc/opt/scalix-tomcat/connector/ajp and /etc/opt/scalix-tomcat/connector/jk for the Apache config files.

Thanks again for your direction, Valerion. I'm having some mixed results at the moment but will post any success. I'm steering towards the added virtual address with sac only.
