unable to apply changes in SCA

Postby interways2 » Thu Aug 23, 2007 12:53 pm

Hello!

We have this server up and running for several months now. After upgrading to 11.1.0 it is not possible anymore to use SAC for changes to users or adding users.

When adding anew user or changing user settings/password,a box appears saying that it is not possible to save changes.

Does anybody have any ideas?

Thanks

Chris

I tried to omshut and then omrc for another reason, now I get a message:

omshowmn: [OM8001] Someone else is configuring the system. Please try again.

This happened after I logged in to SAC and tried to add a new user. Then I typed omshut and omrc with the result above.

Any ideas?

There may be a issue with the web console. I would bounce the machine to make sure that there is no old connections hanging around in memory somewhere.

Also, have a look at /var/opt/scalix/??/tomcat/logs at the CAA and RES logs to see if there's any errors that shed more light on the issue.

I get errors like this:

ERROR [RESDispatcherServlet.doPost:228] org.xml.sax.SAXP
arseException: The processing instruction target matching "[xX][mM][lL]" is not
allowed.

What can I do?

Thanks

This sounds like a missing library, either in the SAC install, or in the JRE on your machine.

You will have to take this up with a Scalix support person here, or via email, this is a bit above my head.

Still waiting...

BTW: It's gotten worse! When saving changes in SAC, the whole Scalix system hangs. Even the command line actoins like omshowu stop responding.

I can only restart the whole server, since omshut then does not work either .

HELP!!!!!

Please, if anybody knows anything on this issue, we are completely lost since SAC is nearly unusable for now!

What about running the install script again?
1) Start by stopping your server completely with omshut (any scalix process that doesn't died just kill with -9),
2) Then make a tar file of your /var/opt/scalix directory (just insurance) (*)
3) Then more or less follow the sequence of events on this post:
viewtopic.php?t=8606#39043

The install script lets you remove and reinstall components of your server. Be careful with removing the whole server, because in this particular action the script is incredibly stupid, and will delete the data storage (*).(Scalix, please fix this for 11.2)

Good luck

Tried reinstalling on a new system using old message store, with same result.

Uninstall and install also gives same result.

omcheck/omscan all went through smoothly without errors many times.

Seems to be a message store/user database error.

Is there a way to rebuild the user database?
