Changing the Authentication ID For User

Postby peter5898 » Mon Aug 07, 2006 9:09 am

I don't know if this is an admin question - but what I have found is I have several users with the login of firstname.surname@domain.com and I have logged in on the admin page and changed the Authentication ID to firstname.surname but when I try to login I still have to enter
firstname.surname@domain.com as it hasn't picked up the change.

I am quite new to Linux and Scalix so if you need any more information please let me know thanks
:D

I have just rebooted the Linux box - and now the authentication works but I have noticed that the login names are case sensitive e.g. User.Name logs in o.k but user.name does not is there anyway that this can be changed. Thanks :)

Hi,

depending on the client, users can already login with multiple login names.

SAC: MUST use Authentication ID, exactly as-is

SWA, Outlook: Can use authentication ID (case sensitive), lastname, firstname lastname, display name, any eMail address. None of them is case sensitive

However, the request to make the login name not case-sensitive is pretty common and we're planning to change this for a future release.

Cheers,
Florian.
