sxqueryadmin password expired

Hey,
is there a quick fix for this problem. I couldn't log into my SAC today and discovered that the password for the sxqueryadmin expired. I've followed the instruction to unlock the account and change the password. I really need access to this today and don't really have the time to upgrade scalix. where can I tell scalix/SAC about the new password?

this is the bug in listed in the 10.0.1 release notes. I had been working with a vendor that was supposed to keep track of things like this, but hasn't.
Is my only fix to install the update? There has to be some way to let the system know that I've changed the password.

Hi Chris,

So, first, can you post the output from omshowu -n sxqueryadmin. Next, what commands have you run already against the sxqueryadmin mailbox? What you need to do run is:

ommodu -o sxqueryadmin -E -k

The -E unexpires the password the -k unlocks it (assuming it was locked).

I ran the ommodu -o sxqueryadmin -k
and then with -p to change the password. there were other posting on the problem that I looked up but didn't see one using the -E option.
I looked over the knowlegebase and didn't see anything.

Hi Chris,

Okay, since you've changed your password, the best route is to uninstall SAC, delete the sxqueryadmin account, then re-install SAC. You can do the uninstall/reinstall using the scalix-installer. You can delete sxqueryadmin by typing:

omdelu -n sxqueryadmin

when you do the reinstall of SAC, it will automatically recreate the sxqueryadmin account with the correct password.

I got a license error when reinstalling, during the creation of the sxqureyadmin user.

I checked the forum and saw this can happen if the license sever is not working.
omstat shows that it's running.

Rachel,
It looks like the sac was installed but without the sxqueryadmin user; the login page just hangs at "Attempting to Log In"...
we have an 800 user license for this server.

Hi Chris,

Could you run sxlicense -u and verify that the system thinks you still have at least one premium license available. Assuming you do, go ahead and uninstall and reinstall SAC again as it should be able to create the sxqueryadmin login.

Hi Chris,

That's not actually your license limits, it's the number of actual premium and standard users on your system. So, even if you were community edition, you would still have some room left to add the sxqueryadmin. Can you post the results from:

omsearch -e cn=sxqueryadmin -m @all-attr@ -v

and

omsearch -e cn=sxqueryadmin -m @all-attr@ -v -t h -d userlist

Could you also post the most recent /var/log/scalix-installer-xxxxxxx.log file?

Problem solved. It turned out to be an old Limited Release license. A new license was generated and installed and now SAC is working once again.
