License key will not install

Postby sgreen » Wed Jun 02, 2010 2:21 pm

Everything seems to work fine but the key never ends up installed. I tried damaging the key and this gets me an error about it being wrong so I know I am entering it correctly.
Omshowlog shows no errors. Is there a command line way to install a key? I am hoping something that is not a webapp may give more diagnostic information.

It seems to have updated the permenant.lic and not the temporary.lic which is it currently using. Will this fail over cleanly or is there something we need to restart?

- remove all old files from /var/opt/scalix/??/s/LicenceKeys/
- store the key you got from the CLS link as a file in the same directory, to calm down SAC you should use permanent.lic or temporary.lic as the filename, depending on the type of license
. run "sxlicence -r" to reload the license
- use "sxlicence" to check

No need to restart Scalix.
Please note that a temporary license will have precedence over a permanent if it exists and is still valid.

Thanks, I removed the temporary.lic and did a sxlicense -r which seems to have done what I wanted.

Would it have failed over cleanly if I just let the temporary license expire?

It should. But I never tried as I cleaned up manually in those cases. Just to be sure that the customer doesnt call me in the night time...
