No SAC log on with admin account

Postby todddixon » Thu Sep 24, 2009 10:00 am

I've dredged the forums, but cannot seem to find an answer to this problem. I cannot log in to the Scalix Management Console (SAC) with the admin account that we created during the install. We are using CentOS 5.3 (64 bit) and Scalix 11.4.2. I have some information from the fatal log and an omshowu that suggest the problem, but I would like to get a second opinion and a possible solution.

From the Fatal log:
ERROR Administration(Scalix Admin C) Mon Sep 21 22:05:41 2009
[SYS 2] No such file or directory
Pid of logging process: 15717
Current errno value: 2

Obviously, No such file or directory jumps out when we have tried to log into SAC.

I "think" the issue is coming from the System Login field that gives my name Todd instead of a scalix user id number in the 60000's. My user id number on the system is 500. So I think that the issue is that scalix sees that and directs it appropriately--only to find that the user id is wrong for the mailadmin account. The question is how do I change that system login to the appropriate user id in scalix?
We can add users through the command line, but the gui helps us to fool proof ourselves a little better. If I can give more information, please let me know. I have renamed user IDs in linux before--I just didn't know how to make the jump to move one in Scalix.

Todd (my assistant) posted this while I was putting out fires elsewhere.

For those who are interested, the solution was to backup the mailstore, uninstall and then reinstall Scalix, and then restore the mailstore.
