Hi scalix users,
size of /var/opt/scalix is 20 gb.
if i use df -h command , It shows /var/opt/scalix 94% used.
But from the scalix admin console, it shows , 6 GB used nad 14 GB remaining
So, How can i free up my hard disk to 14 GB remaing ?
then, df -h will show 14 GB is remaining.
Your Advice
Urgent.

df is measuring the actual usage. SAC is measuring the message store usage. They're never going to be the same.
That having been said, run an omscan -af, and it'll clear out orphans, temporary files and suchlike. You should be doing that regularly anyway.

Hi schmoe90,
Thanx for your help. omscan -af worked for me. Now, it has reduced to 80% .So, 20% free space is remaining.
Clarification?

So, when should we look at adding disks? If we run out of space in the file system, on the partition with the mail store, will it continue to function normally? Presumably the mail store would fill up faster at this point, at the very least...
Thanks,
Tyler

You should add discs when you need more space.
If you run out of space, things get really ugly really quickly. You won't be able to create new messages, or log anything new. Data corruption tends to follow shortly after when the server tries to modify files.
