Adding mailnode omldapsync failed

Postby potatoinmiri » Fri Feb 20, 2009 9:16 pm

Dear friends,

I have a question on mailnode+omldapsync which may be inter related.

My system is scalix Enterprise license with RHEL4.
I am working on omldapsync with openldap which has been successful on all accounts within the primary mailnode.
However i wish to test some filtering rules with additional mailnode, so i added a mailnode from SAC (also tested add from command line).
Mailnode was successfully added.
So i add a new user at openldap with the new "Scalixmailnode".
After that, i did an omldapsync but it failed for the account with the new mailnode.

sync.log doesnt say much except :
2009-02-21 08:34:30 ERROR: failed to run omldapagent
2009-02-21 08:34:30 DEBUG: >>>>>>>>cat rawdata.entry >>limita.fail
>Failed to locate Mailnode/HostFQDN

Apparently, it must be something to do with the newly added mailnode, i am wondering if i had added mailnode correctly, the mailnode i can see was added successfully in SAC but in /var/opt/scalix/ i don't see an extra folder created for the new mailnode, only one folder for primary mailnoded exist.

Anyone can tell me if my procedure for adding mailnode is correct? Does it need to activate something or what for a mailnode to work?

The documentation i found regarding omldapsync+openldap has been good but thats for single mailnode, i can't find any help on omldapsync with openldap if with additional new mailnode.

thanks for taking time reading my mail, hope to get help, thanks

Regards
Potato

mailnodes aren't folders. Instances are - are you trying to create a new instance?

use omshowmn to see your mailnodes, and see if there's anything weird there.

Hi schmoe90,
thanks for your reply.

Oh ya, sorry i made a mistake. That folder should be created for new instance....not for mailnode and that needs a hosting license if not mistaken.

Ok, i figure out the following error and clues and solution:

ERROR 1: omaddu : [OM 8116] Cannot add user due to license restrictions
ERROR 2: <message>Failed to locate Mailnode/HostFQDN for id = 7807ed5c-965e-102d-9cd3-81798f346d65</message>

I supposed from the error it is saying my system is without hosting license to support additional mailnode/domain for omldapsync.

I solved the problem by:
1) first creating the entry in openldap with the primary mailnode & domain, then omldapsync into SAC.
2) move the user with CLI omaddu into the new mailnode
3) Edit the mailnode & domain attribute for the entry at openldap
4) omldapsync again to update the settings

I got the account working with the new mailnode & domain. A lot of work, not so convenient but i guess thats the only option for now.

thanks

Oh..i am an idiot.
I just found out the domains that i am allowed to create are listed in my license.
I was trying to test with a domain that is not listed in the license.

We have a multiple domain license...

Sorry for wasting time to those who tried to help me figure out..
thanks
