it will somehow process some incoming iso-8859-2 messages correctly; however, this part of the system is remains from HP OpenMail and we've never tested Scalix with Hungarian, so Scalix 10 is most likely to fallover as it has only limited international character set support.

I would suggest that you use Scalix 11 instead, which has full Unicode and other character set support and should provide a lot better usability in non-western-european environments.

Cheers,
Florian.

Yes.

Scalix 10 only supports ISO-8859-1 in header and body parts. You will need to use Scalix 11, as said before.

Florian.

No. The hack cost us about 1,5 manyears of development time in Scalix 11. (only for the unicode stuff, much more for everything else)

Hello Florian!

As u have told to me i have installed Scalix 11 on my debian etch system.
It was success, i think cos i am able to login in sac

So i have logged in my SAC and i was trying to create a user with name "Darvas István"

As you have advised me i am using UTF-8 Charset on teh whole system

----locale output
LANG=hu_HU.UTF-8
LC_CTYPE="hu_HU.UTF-8"
LC_NUMERIC="hu_HU.UTF-8"
LC_TIME="hu_HU.UTF-8"
LC_COLLATE="hu_HU.UTF-8"
LC_MONETARY="hu_HU.UTF-8"
LC_MESSAGES="hu_HU.UTF-8"
LC_PAPER="hu_HU.UTF-8"
LC_NAME="hu_HU.UTF-8"
LC_ADDRESS="hu_HU.UTF-8"
LC_TELEPHONE="hu_HU.UTF-8"
LC_MEASUREMENT="hu_HU.UTF-8"
LC_IDENTIFICATION="hu_HU.UTF-8"
LC_ALL=hu_HU.UTF-8
----

cat /etc/environment
LANG=hu_HU.UTF-8
LC_ALL=hu_HU.UTF-8

cat /etc/default/locale
# File generated by update-locale
LANG=hu_HU.UTF-8

cat /etc/locale.gen
en_US ISO-8859-1
hu_HU UTF-8
hu_HU ISO-8859-2

and
#locale-gen
Generating locales (this might take a while)...
en_US.ISO-8859-1... done
hu_HU.UTF-8... done
hu_HU.ISO-8859-2... done
Generation complete.

And i am not able to access user with name "Darvas István"

What should i do? And where can find the logfiles in conjuction with these? ;)

After the Update from 10 to 11.1, the internal users can't send via Outlook Mails to Users with Umlaute in the Name (with the Webmail it's no problem).

After i just retype the Names in the sac, the Mails will be deliver.
