Postby Clemenshoeft » Wed Jun 21, 2006 9:11 am

I have installed scalix on my PC now I want to connect to SAC, it works but its very slowly and often pages will not showed. It's in Firefox and Konquerer.
TOMCAT is installed but I can't see the page at "localhost:8080"

Connection works I can open my Mails with Outlook, but the logon is very slowly.

There are many errors in the java script console .. but I have the latest version of java and Firefox

What is the problem ??

This doesn't sound like a SAC specific issue because if your Outlook login is also slow, it may be something on your system. First, can you provide some details about your system, memory, swap, processor, etc. Next, can you run top and see what's using what.

Thanks,
Rachel

My system: P4 3Ghz, 512 MB RAM, swap: 1GB.

I work with SUSE 9 Enterprise Edition

scalix version is 10.1 I use tomcat and java from the package

the CPU is not stressed with some application.

nTop doesn't start becouse of an error, the cache file is arealy in use .. I don't now by what

I think with this setup it have to work.

I was recently working with a SuSE customer that had Ximian Red Carpet software management software (rcd) running that ate up all the available memory. That's the type of thing you need to look for on your system. Perhaps that's the reason why top won't run either.

Thanks,
Rachel

Java takes about 430 MB of RAM .. is that normal ??
I have reserved for TOMCAT 200 MB of RAM .. is that to much ??

512MB isn't much RAM. You may want to drop your tomcat Xms Xmx values to 128M. The tradeoff is that SWA will be a bit slower.

Thanks,
Rachel
