Calendar syncing problems scalix 11 web interface

Hi all,

While I congratulate you on a great product, I have been left wondering when someone will comment on the calendar sync problems found with the web interface on scalix 11 (all versions).

This is a show stopper for us, and so far no comments have been made since Dec 24th 2006.

Both myself and Mike Scholes have reported these issues and it is at present preventing us from not only deploying your product but further prevents us from even recommending your product to our customers base for there use.

The web interface is our doorwedge (so to speak) into companies that in the past rely on Exchange server technology as well as potential clients that have been forced down the MS SBS route with heavy use of outlook. We do not use outlook (but we do have to support it) and feel (and know) that a lot of these customers would love to have an alternative product that would negate the use of both exchange server and outlook.

So please, can you address these issues with the utmost of urgency, we like your product and are willing participents on these forums but feel this issues do have a serious detrimental effect on your products usability.

Kerry,

as per my just-done response to the dec/24 scholes thread, i don't think we've seen this behaviour in all our testing, though I don't question that you're somehow able to trigger it. Can you provide a definite series of steps that bring SWA into that state? If so, please either post them here or even better open a bug at bugzilla.scalix.com and we'll look into it. Certainly also not something we have heard from many customers about.... (but then, SWA/Delegation is a new feature, so possibly not too many are using it just yet...)

Thanks to Mike Scholes for this step by step:

OK I have recreated the problem, sorry for the large post but every step is listed. I think the problems may start after permissions have been removed and then reinstated.

install Scalix GA on FC5 vmware virtual machine, (Scalix download 10/1/2007)
add two premium users with default settings: mike, jackie
log in as mike in IE (Windows XP SP2)
log in as jackie in Firefox 2.0.0.1 on the same machine.
mike add permission for his calendar to jackie as publishing editor
jackie add mailbox, log off/on and can see mikes calendar
both users check auto-refresh on this calendar
mike adds appointment, jackie refreshes and can see appointment OK
jackie moves appointment, mike refreshes and see changes OK
jackie adds appointment to mikes calendar, mike refreshes and can see appointment OK
mike moves both appointments, jackie refreshes and can see changes OK
mike changes the permission to his calendar to none for jackie
jackie logs off/on and the calendar has gone, OK
jackie removes mailbox, logs off/on and mailbox has gone OK
mike adds jackie again to his calendar with PE rights
jackie adds mailbox and calendar visible OK
jackie moves appointments, mike refreshes and change are OK
mike resizes both appointments and adds a new appointment
jackie refreshes and bingo! it's gone wrong. She sees the old appointments without the resisze and does not see the new appointment at all
jackie logs off/on and now all appointments are gone!
mike refreshes and all appointments are OK

This is exactly the behaviour seen in Beta2, RC2 and GA. It's consistently going wrong and easy to replicate

kerry, if this is reproducible every time, can you please open a bugzilla.scalix.com bug for it with the full description? I'll see that it's routed accordingly.
